02nd Mar 2021

Motorists on the New England Highway will soon enjoy a smoother and safer journey when travelling north of Guyra, with work beginning on a $1.3 million safety and drainage upgrade.
The project, being delivered under the NSW Government’s Safer Roads Program, will improve a 1.3 kilometre stretch of the highway between Ryanda Creek Road and Stoke Farm Road.
Works include widening road shoulders, installing safety barriers, drainage improvements, pavement works, resurfacing and line marking.
The project will be carried out from 7am to 6pm on weekdays and 7am to 2pm on Saturdays, and is expected to be complete by May, weather permitting.
Traffic control and a reduced speed limit will be in place for the safety of workers and road users. Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.”
